Long Range RF Transmitter Receiver, FORBIX SEMICON®
Model FBX-ALBATROSS-04TR: long range RF for defence, factories, and sites.
Furthermore, short-range remotes can trigger a pole unit up to 2–3 km LoS.
In addition, four latch channels drive LEDs, relays, sirens, or displays.

Long Range RF System
Weather protection: Tx and Rx ship with an extra metal outdoor box.
It shields electronics from rain, dust, UV, and outdoor heat swings.
Mount on wall or pole; RF stays inside, antenna stays outside.
How the system operates
The link has two trigger paths. Both send the same secure RF packet.
| Trigger | How it works | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Panel buttons | 4 keys on FBX-ALBATROSS-04T toggle Rx channels. | On-site manual control. |
| FBX521 remote | Short-range RF starts the pole/wall Tx unit. | Ground-level, no climbing. |
| Latch ON/OFF | ON holds load; OFF clears the same channel. | Pumps, gates, sirens. |
| Receiver output | Function |
|---|---|
| 4× LED | Shows active channel or remote number. |
| 4× Relay | Drives siren, beacon, hooter, or gate. |
Network architecture (configurable nodes)
Firmware supports several RF topologies. Node IDs are set at commissioning.
| Mode | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Unicast | One Tx talks to one chosen Rx. |
| Multicast | One Tx reaches a defined Rx group. |
| Broadcast | One Tx heard by all Rx in range. |
| Anycast | Best-SNR or nearest Rx in a pool acts. |
Repeater system — extended range
Optionally, repeaters extend range beyond one 2–3 km hop.
| Step | Effect |
|---|---|
| Capture | Repeater picks up the Tx packet at usable SNR. |
| Retransmit | Clean RF is sent onward with better SNR. |
| Per hop | About +2–3 km in open line of sight. |
| Chain | Multiple hops cover long perimeters. |
Applications
| Sector | Use |
|---|---|
| Defence | Perimeter warning and guard-post panic. |
| Factory | E-stop and machine control over distance. |
| Warehouse | Doors, conveyors, forklift beacons. |
| Security | Silent alarm and gate release (~3 km). |
| Logistics | Bay hooters and dock locks. |
Mounting and range notes
| Tip | Detail |
|---|---|
| Height | Mount Tx on pole, roof, or tower. |
| Antenna | Keep outside metal box; RF inside. |
| Obstacles | Range may fall to ~500–800 m. |
| Metal | Do not trap antenna in steel cabinets. |
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the open-air range?
Typically 2–3 km line of sight per hop.
Site conditions may give 500 m up to 8 km.
How are channels controlled?
One press latches ON; a paired press latches OFF.
Can I trigger without reaching the transmitter?
Yes. Short-range remotes activate the pole-mounted Tx.
Outdoor remote range is about 30–120 m.
What outputs can the receiver drive?
LEDs show which channel or remote is active.
Relays switch sirens, beacons, and hooters.
